How to level TekSpan modular steel frames system

How to level TekSpan modular steel frame system

What makes TekSpan so simple to use on site?

Just one of the reasons contractors find TekSpan simple to use is the fast profile levelling process. As you’ll see in our video, TekSpan allows the installer to simply slacken off the fixing bolt, make the level adjustment, then tighten – easy, effective and achievable with no tools, and by one operative.

Where other frame systems need multiple screws to be removed and reinserted, TekSpan keeps it simple. Check out the video below to find out more about this superb system.

Heavy Duty Pipe Flange Brackets

New TekSpan pipe flange bracket

Supporting heavy duty pipework? – then you’ll be interested in our all-new TekSpan flange support brackets that use the bolts on the pipe flange to secure the pipe support directly to the flange.

Available to fit 80 or 100mm TekSpan profiles, and in below-pipe or side-mount variants, the new flange brackets are hot dip galvanised for ultimate corrosion resistance when in use with the WIMES-spec TekSpan system.

Advantages

Seismic Guide for Modular Steel Frame System

Seismic Guide

Modular Steel Frame System

Do you need the assurance that your steel frame installation is secure and steady enough for purpose?

While the UK is recognised as having comparatively low seismic hazard risk, when installing secondary steel support frames we all need to be taking any stability risks very seriously.

Because it’s not just natural earthquakes that can affect the stability of an installation; factors such as nearby transport movement or machinery tremors can all play a part in affecting frame stability.

That’s why we have produced the TekSpan Modular Steel Frame System Seismic Guide below to provide you with the additional detail you may need. The guide is intended to provide support in the design of pipe routes and heavy pipeline construction taking seismic influences into account.

It only represents a recommendation for action. The planning and execution of fastening solutions must always be carried out under the technical and legal requirements of the respective country.

TekSpan Profile Connections

TekSpan Profile Connections

TekSpan’s versatility as a support frame is well-known and proven – but are you aware of the many ways to connect services to the TekSpan profile? Let’s take a look here at just how simple this superb frame system is to connect to.

1. Threaded Rod Connectors

Drawing on the same principle as the TekSpan T-lock, the threaded rod connector simply locks into the profile slots and offers a direct-to-profile connection for suspension of threaded rods. Simply insert the connector T-section, apply a quarter-turn, and tighten by hand / with a spanner. Choose from M10 / M12 M 16 options.

2. Rod-through-profile

It’s simple but effective; install an M10 or M12 threaded rod right through both sides of the profile and secure each side with a square plate washer and hex nut to create a strong and secure suspension rod.

3. Direct to channel

Want to use standard channel / Unistrut in conjunction with TekSpan? Then simply use the T-lock bolt with heavy plain washer to direct-connect. That way you can build a superstructure using the TekSpan frame, and a lighter gauge channel system for the internal parts of the frame, and what’s more, you can easily fit standard channel brackets to TekSpan too, further maximising it’s versatility.

Pipe Connections

Connecting pipes to TekSpan?

If you’re supporting pipework with TekSpan then what options do you have to securely connect the pipework?

Check out our guide below to see what works best for your application.

U-bolts

TekSpan’s 14mm slot width means u-bolts of up to 12mm with extra leg length can be simply installed through one face, and exit on the opposite. Nuts and washers each side of the TekSpan profile keep the u-bolt securely bolted to the beam.

Pipe straps

Heavy-duty pipe straps can be bolted directly to the TekSpan profile using the unique T-lock bolts, providing an exceptionally high degree of rigidity and strength for larger diameter pipework.

TekSpan pipe holder angle brackets

Connecting pipework to TekSpan horizontal profiles is easy using the angle bracket supports – simply T-lock bolt the angle brackets to the TekSpan profile, and drop your U-bolt over the pipe into the angle brackets. Two sizes of bracket cater for pipework sizes from 21 to 220mm.

Direct-rod connector

Unique to TekSpan is the threaded rod connector. This neat fixing simply T-locks into the TekSpan slot and provides a secure M10 or M12 female thread connection, capable of accommodating loads of up to 3kN.

H/D threaded rod connector bracket

For applications requiring a heavier duty connection, the H/D connector uses the T-lock bolt system to secure to the TekSpan profile, to provide an M16 threaded rod female connection capable of supporting up to 5kN load. Bracket supplied in pairs.
